RDF - Rapid Development Framework

The majority of cube data in PA is either imported, exported or transformed in some form or other. With RDF's Dataflow and Transformation module we can configure cube data management within a central module and front-end, without the requirement for custom processes.

Key features:

Supported data source to target movements include, ODBC/CSV to Cube, Cube to Cube, Cube to ODBC/CSV.

MDX and Bedrock are fully supported.

Various element mapping options between data sources.

Metadata mapping between data sources:

• Attribute mapping (e.g. lookup currency attribute on customer dimension to derive currency element).
• Mapping cube element value (e.g. lookup a combination of customer, period and region combination to derive salesperson element).

Data value manipulation between data sources:

• Element attribute factor (e.g. Salesperson commission rate) .
• Assumptions cube factor value (e.g. Currency rate lookup based on version, period and currency code; Allocation calculations; Sales commissions).

Sequential data processing in a layered and filtered manner, often necessary for cumulative and interdependent calculations. (e.g. Allocations, inter-company).

Error handling options (Skip record, assign default element, abort).

Configure and manage dimension builds through a central module and front-end.

Process Audit Tracker

Module to provide full audit trail of all processes run. Information in the audit includes:

• Executing user
• Error counts
• Parameter values
• Data record count
• Date and time of execution start/end/duration

Inter-cube Reconciliation

Module to identify reconciliation issues between cubes via a report and/or email notification. For example, a daily check of Sales cube forecast numbers agree to those in the GL cube's sales account.

Chore Management

Module to simplify the management of processes within a chore. Allows for simple configuration of parameters per process, as well ability to flag processes active/inactive.

Email Notifications

Module to manage email generation based on cube view criteria. For example, inter-cube reconciliation variances, overnight error logs.
